About Ankari Holder

Ankari Holder performs jazz standards and original music, sometimes venturing into the pop and Musical Theater realms. She has played many important venues and events in SL, always looking to provide her public with musical quality as well as entertainment. She has performed in SL alongside some great Mexican musicians such as guitarist Fernando Vigueras, pianist Alex Varela, bassist Sosimo Hernández and, most notably, long-time collaborator pianist David Pineda; however, she also accompanies herself on piano when the need arises. She has a distinctive timbre and a vocal style of improvisation that is all her own.

Ankari Holder’s RL name is Emilia Badaracco. She is a 24-year-old Uruguayan singer and songwriter-composer currently residing in Mexico City as she finishes her degree in Jazz Studies and teaches voice and ear training at a music school. She has received scholarships from the Fundación Fernando Barranco and Berklee College of Music among others. She has also performed in Japan, Finland, USA, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Uruguay, and likes to think of herself as an eclectic musician, even though she makes fun of herself for her… well… pretentious and vague self-labeling :)

Ankari Holder’s first show in Second Life was at Meatspace Lounge on St. Valentine’s Day in 2007.
